Stuffed Brioche French Toast
Brioche French Toast stuffed with sweetened Mascarpone cheese and topped with a berry compote and whipped cream! What could get any better!
There is nothing better than enjoying a great brunch with some amazing people. Brunch has become more than a simple meal. It has become an event where people can eat, have fun, and show out! But, without the food, Brunch would be nothing. Oh, and how could you have Brunch without French Toast! It is a classic that has stood the test of time; and, it is actually not originally from France either. From its simplest form to its most elaborate, French Toast is a staple in any great Brunch menu.
Now when it comes to this recipe, I decided to stuff it with some sweetened Mascarpone Cheese. I whisked sugar into the Mascarpone until it got light and fluffy. Mascarpone Cheese is an Italian cream cheese with addition of various acids to help coagulate it (i.e. lemon juice). This sweetened mixture made this recipe even more decadent. When making this mixture, keep the Mascarpone at room temperature. It will be a lot easier to mix it with sugar when it’s at room temperature.
When making French Toast, your liquid mixture is a custard base (eggs, milk or cream, and sugar). Getting the right consistency and ratio is key in making a good mixture. Adding too much egg will turn you end product into bread with fried eggs at the bottom. Too much of the milk, cream, or half & half will not create the golden brown crust that you want on each slice of bread. The addition of fresh berries and a berry compote made the dish colorful and sweet. There is no need for syrup with this recipe. But, if you choose to, that is up to you. Either way you will be in a food coma after eating all of this. With the addition of some nice scenery and freshly squeezed orange juice, you will have the ultimate brunch!
A good French Toast recipe must always have good quality bread. Thicker slices, also, work the best for final product purposes. In this recipe, you’ll find that I use Brioche bread. It is flaky, buttery, and light. But, a good French Toast recipe doesn’t have to use Brioche. Here are a few other types of bread that could be used if you cannot find brioche:
Thicker Sandwich Breads
These bread choices will soak up your custard mixture without losing their shape, and becoming too mushy. It ‘s dishes like this that make me want to relax and enjoy the people around me. Brunch always comes with good vibes that you will always remember. Take a chance and try this amazing recipe! You will definitely enjoy how you feel after eating it. Enjoy fam!
