FOR THE LOVE OF CHICKEN WINGS!
Grilling and BBQ season might be over for some, but in my house it’s always the right time. It’s finally game season too! That means that it is the perfect time for WINGS! Well, to be honest, wings are good regardless of the season. But, these Whiskey BBQ Chicken Wings are something to behold! They are simple, easy, and, of course, delicious!
Drums or FLATS?
There has always been an ongoing debate on which part of the chicken wing is better. Is it the drumstick or the flat? I’ve seen people get into heated discussions over this topic. I’ve even seen friendships tested over this topic.
People do not play around with their food, especially their chicken wings. But, at the end of the day, it’s still chicken. As long as it’s cooked fully, I’m good! The wings should be crispy and seasoned well. If they are being tossed in sauce, they should be fully coated and not drowned.
The wing and sauce should complement each other. Usually, I always like to make BBQ sauce from scratch, but sometimes you just don’t have the time. A go-to option for me is always Sweet Baby Ray’s.
Crispy! Crispy! CrispY!
Now when it comes to frying, always make sure to have the right oil at the right temperature. Fried foods are always perceived as completely bad for people. Now, it is not good to eat them on a consistent basis, but they are good on occasion.
Plus, most people do not know how to fry properly. If your oil is at the right temperature (350 - 375 degrees F), the food will cook evenly. The crispiness of the skin will not be compromised. The meat will also be fully cooked. Most of the time people let food sit too long in the oil. This adds to the amount of fat that you consume. Here are some oil options for frying:
Peanut oil
Soybean oil
Vegetable oil
Safflower oil
Canola oil
Corn oil
Sunflower oil.
Chicken wings are such a fun finger food that is always a hit! They can be bought in bulk and made very quickly. All you need is the right ingredients and people to share them with; or, you can be selfish keep them to yourself. It’s your prerogative! Enjoy fam!
