GET INTO THE PUNCH!

The spring and summer call for all types of refreshing drinks! This is the time when we all gather together outside to have some fun. Whether it’s a holiday celebration, birthday party, or cookout, having a festive drink is always a go-to move. Plus, a good drink helps to cut some of that hot weather!

Nothing hits the spot like my Summer Raspberry Ginger Punch! You can literally never go wrong with an old-school punch recipe. It takes no time to make and only uses a few ingredients that are probably lying around your house. Oh, and did I mention, that it looks just as good as it tastes? I just know y’all are going to love this recipe!

TIPS & TRICKS

Here are just a few of my favorite tips & tricks for making the BEST Summer Raspberry Ginger Punch ever!

  • Always use some sort of Clear Container! Punch is a very fun thing to concoct in your kitchen. But, the whole purpose of making it is so that it can be seen! Using a nice glass pitcher, glass punch bowl, or plastic drink dispenser will really show off the punch well. This also goes for the cups that you serve your punch in!

  • Get a Strong Brand of Ginger Beer. You have a lot of flavors going on in this punch. So, make sure that the ginger beer you decide to use is pretty strong in order to get the full effect of the ginger and the fizziness.

  • When serving the punch to your guests, tell them what it contains! Growing up, I never knew what was inside most of the punches I drank. To avoid any confusion and possible questions, have a little card explaining what’s in the punch.

sUMMER PUNCH Ingredients:

The ingredients are pretty simple in this recipe; but, let’s still walk through them to understand them. They are also so easy to find in any grocery store. They are all relatively cheap which makes this drink recipe even better!

  • Raspberry Sorbet: Adding some sort of sorbet or sherbet is an old-school trick that makes ay type of punch slightly viscous and creamy. I used a simple store-bought raspberry sorbet, but feel free to make your own if you have time!

  • Cranberry Juice: The cranberry juice acts as a hidden gem in this punch. It helps with the color and slight tartness that the punch has. You can also opt to use a Cran-Raspberry blend if you’d like some extra raspberry flavor.

  • Limeade: Raspberry and limes are such a good fruit/food pairing. They both have some tartness that can easily be dialed up or down depending on how you like your drinks. The limeade has some additional sweetness which helps give the punch some balance.

  • Simple Syrup: The simple syrup is totally optional! But, it’s a nice addition to the punch if you prefer some additional sweetness in your drinks.

  • Ginger Beer: If you’ve never tried ginger beer before, be prepared. It can be a little strong at times, but when mixed with the right ingredients it is so smooth going down. The fizziness in it helps to make the punch even better.

  • Ice: You can’t go wrong with a lil ice! But, you’re not required to add it to the punch.

  • Garnishes: The big thing with punches is how good they look from across the room. So, to make this punch look really good I added in some fresh raspberries, lime slices, and fresh mint Leaves.

How to make THIS SUMMER PUNCH

Now that we have our ingredients, let’s make this easy spring and summertime punch recipe!

This recipe will take no time at all! When I tell y’all that this punch was one of the most refreshing I’ve had in a while, and I mean it! It was the perfect balance of sweet and tart! The full written recipe is below, but here’s an overview:

SUMMER PUNCH:

  • STEP 1: Allow Sorbet to Slightly Melt. In a large pitcher, add the raspberry sorbet. Allow the sorbet to slightly melt (about 5 - 7 minutes) before adding the fresh raspberries and lime slices.

  • STEP 2: Add the Remaining Ingredients and Mix. Add the remaining cranberry juice, limeade, and simple syrup. Mix slightly and top the mixture off with ginger beer. Place the pitcher in the refrigerator and allow the sorbet to melt.

  • STEP 3: Add Ice & Serve Cold. When most of the sorbet has melted, add some ice to a few glasses with some fresh raspberries and lime slices. Pour the punch into the glasses. Serve cold and enjoy!

Can I make this drink in advance?

Yes! I actually think this punch tastes better when you allow it to sit overnight. Here’s how to do it:

  • Combine Some of the ingredients in the pitcher. Only mix the raspberry sorbet, cranberry juice, limeade, and simple syrup in the pitcher the day before you plan to serve the punch.

  • Add the Ginger Beer the day of. Fizzy drinks lose their fizziness over time. So, you want to add the ginger beer about 1 to 2 hours before you plan to serve the punch. This will ensure that the drink has the right amount of fizz and flavor.

  • Add the Fresh Sliced Fruit the Next Day. On the day that you want to have the drink ready for your guests, add your sliced fruit. The fruit can be sliced the night before as well.

  • Serve the punch with ice and enjoy! The punch will last for 5 - 6 days in the refrigerator.
